Q. Will the weather affect my satellite service?
A. Possibly, however, we now have 4 satellites in the sky. If there is any interference, the issue is normally resolved within 60 seconds.

Q. How big are the dishes?
A. The satellite dishes are only 21 inches in diameter.

Q. Is there a charge if I choose to move?
A. You are entitled to one free move every 6 months on Primary receiver installation only.

Q. What happens if I cancel within the 2 yr contract?
A. The maximum is $200 prorated to the months that have been used in the 2 year period.

Q. Can I disconnect if I leave for a vacation?
A. You can stop your programming for a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 7 months.

Q. Are you Bell Canada?
A. We are one of Bell’s largest independent dealers.

Q. What is time shifting?
A. Programming that allows you to watch your favourite shows from up to 5 different time zones

Q. How many HD Channels will I receive?
A. We offer 74 HD channels depending on the package you subscribe to. Many HD channels offered for free as part of Digital Basic service.

Q. Should I cancel my current service provider or does Bell Canada do that?
A. You should contact your current provider to cancel your service.

Q. Is Bell a Cable Company?
A. Bell is a 100% digital video service provider using a satellite to deliver the service while Cable companies uses miles of land and telephone cables to deliver the signal to your home.

Q. If I live in a building, may I receive Bell TV?
A. You may receive Bell TV in any area in Canada as long as you have a south west exposure to the Bell Satellites and your building allows dishes installation on the balcony.

Q. Will the Technician have to drill in my home for an installation?
A. Yes, depending on the current line running through your home.  The hole is very small, and they will cover around the cable with silicone.

Q. Who do I contact with billing and programming requests?

Q. Can I have a friend or may I do the install myself?
A. An authorized Bell Technician must come out to your home to make sure you have a professional installation.  This service is offered for free for up to 2 receivers.

Q. What is a MB? (Megabyte)
A. A unit of information equal to approximately 1,024 kilobytes

Q. What is a GB? (Gigabyte)
A. A GB is a measure of Computer Data Storage capacity

Q. How much downloading is a 1 GB?
A. 1GB = 1 048 576 kb

Q. How much I pay if I exceed my usage?
A. You might pay up to maximum of $2.50 per GB for extra usage depending on what internet service is selected (please see the Internet promotion page for full information).  We also have usage insurance for $5.00/mth and it will give you an extra 40 GB per month on top of your current usage allowed per month.

Q. Does a tech have to come out for the installation?
A. Depending on if you already have a current Bell land line or not.   If there is a land line present, a technician will not have to come out for the installation, the modem will be mailed to you by Canada Post within 5-7 business days. However, you are entitled to free install if you choose to do so.

Q. How many computers can be used on a modem?
A. Up to 5 computers within the household as long as they have a wireless card with their computer.

Q. Do you bundle our Bell Services?
A. No, please contact 310-Bell (2355) after activation to apply for Bundle discount. It will take up to 2-3 billing cycles for discounts to be applied to your account. It will be done retroactively to the day when you applied.

Q. Does the internet affect my home phone service?
A. No, it does not.

Q. Who do you call for Tech Support?

Q. What is the difference between Uploading and downloading?
A.  Downloading comes from a server and uploads are sent out.

Q. How big is the modem?
A. It is 6 inches x 6 inches
